The Opportunity New World Technologies (Rad Torque Systems) is a leading Canadian manufacturer of pneumatic, battery powered, and electronic pistol grip torque wrenches. RAD products have proven to be successful all over the world in industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, aerospace, power generation and manufacturing.
The Mechanical Engineer / Designer will join our Mechanical Engineering team, under the leadership of the Technical Lead, Mechanical Engineering, and become part of a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for delivering high quality, high performance tools for the industrial bolting industry. You will design, develop, and deploy innovative mechanical solutions for our industry leading range of products and contribute to the next generation of our products. You will contribute to both system level and mechanical level design efforts.
Qualifications Education
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
P.Eng. registration in BC, or eligibility for registration is an asset.
Experience
3+ years hands-on mechanical design experience in a manufacturing environment
Skills
Exhibits a strong aptitude for complex mechanical systems, components, and processes.
Expertise in conveying technical information clearly, both verbally and in writing.
Skilled at facilitating team collaboration through active listening and problem-solving.
Able to lead multi-discipline development projects from concept to completion.
Strong CAD modeling skills (SolidWorks preferred)
Proficiency with FEA/FEM simulation generating results and preforming analysis.
Precision manufacturing and applications. (CNC, welding, sheet metal, casting)
Knowledgeable about materials, post-treatment techniques and finishing processes.
Design of injection molded components meeting functional and aesthetic requirements.
Creation of technical documentation including requirements specifications, design specifications, drawings, assembly guides, BoMs.
Identifies potential issues and failure modes to ensure product durability, reliability, and long-term performance.
Innovative problem-solver able to translates concepts into practical engineering solutions, driving project success
Job Duties
Execute engineering work in alignment with NWT policies and processes.
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to bring new products to market.
Translate engineering requirements to mechanical and system solutions.
Design, release and support mechanical designs.
Provide mechanical engineering support for production and sales.
Translate customer needs to engineering requirements.
Author relevant technical documentation to accompany technical work.
Act as technical lead on engineering development projects, including defining scope of work, requirements, system high level designs and mechanical detailed designs.
Test and verify designs at the mechanical and system level.
