The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate electrical and mechanical torque tools to meet RAD quality standards. You will play a critical role in delivering exceptional service to customers by providing accurate repair quotes, resolving technical issues, and ensuring tools are restored to optimal performance.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and assess all incoming electrical and mechanical repairs.
- Troubleshoot issues within defined timelines to provide accurate customer quotes.
- Perform repairs to restore tools to RAD quality standards.
- Collaborate with internal departments to complete repairs and re-certify tools.
- Perform calibrations in accordance with ISO 17025 procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, issues, and customer transactions.
- Identify and document recurring issues and communicate them to management.
- Provide prompt and professional customer support via phone and email.
- Offer technical guidance on repairs, upgrades, and tool restoration.
- Ensure accurate communication, documentation, and costing for all services.
- Support vendor technicians to ensure adherence to manufacturer repair processes.
- Maintain RMA procedures in alignment with company standards.
- Keep workspace clean, organized, and safe.
- Participate in regular meetings and collaborate with Service and Operations
Qualifications
Education: - Minimum education: High School Diploma.
- Additional manufacturing process certifications considered an asset Lean / ASQ / Six Sigma.
- Calibration training an asset.
Experience: - 2-3 years experience with RAD products or similar torque tooling
- 2-3 years experience with calibration of RAD products or similar torque tooling
- 2-3 years of customer service-related experience
- Knowledge of computers (hardware) and programming (software, firmware)
- Knowledge of computer networking, including basic troubleshooting of networked devices.
- Knowledge of, and experience with, technologies such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
- Experience in a mechanical assembly / production environment an asset
- Experience with and knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems and how they operate together
Skills:- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and professional phone manner.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe PDF.
- Ability to analyze large data sets in Excel.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on efficiency.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Pay: $27.50 per hour
